Nurses and Midwives
In order to work in Australia as a Nurse or Midwife there is a number of criteria to meet such as a positive skills assessment through ANMAC and APHRA Registration.
(ANMAC) Australian Nursing & Midwifery Accreditation Council
ANMAC is responsible for assessing international qualified nurses, midwifes and international graduates who have completed nursing and midwifery programs in Australia and/or New Zealand who have completed their program and are registered in Australia and/or New Zealand.
There are three types of skills assessment offered by ANMAC
- Modified Assessment
- Modified Plus Assessment
- Full skills assessment
APHRA Registration:
AHPRA registration is a process to ensure that health practitioners such nurses, midwifes are authorized to practice in Australia and possess the required skills, knowledge and expertise needed to provide safe services for their patients.
Aphra registration involves many different background checks such as qualifications, training, work experience, police clearance, English ability etc.
